FAQ

What will happen at the initial consultation meeting?
The initial consultation meeting is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for me to learn more about you and your health and fitness goals, what you have tried before and what has or hasn't worked for you in the past. From here we will discuss how you want to approach your goals going forwards so we can personalise your plan around you and your life. The meeting will take around 30 minutes and can take place in-person, if you live in Sheffield, on video call or on the phone - whatever suits you. There will be no pressure for you to sign up to a plan there are then. You are welcome to go away and have a think about what we have discussed and whether you are ready to commit to coaching.
Where will the in-person training session take place?
The in-person training session can take place in your own home or garden or in my at home based garage gym in Stannington, Sheffield. If you wish to train in your own home or garden, I do request that you are within 30 minutes drive from Stannington, Sheffield. Please contact me if you're unsure. If you wish to train in your own home, I will ask what equipment you have, if any and if neccessary will bring the equipment required to get the best out of your session. Your personalised training plan will be provided at the beginning of your 12-week plan so you are able to make a start right away.
How often will my personalised training plan be updated?
I recommend that you adhere to the same training plan for at least 12-weeks. This allows you time to get accustomed to the exercises, work out what weights are right for you and make real progress towards your goals. Changes can of course be made mid-plan if required due to changes in circumstances such as time available or injury.
Will I be expected to count macros?
You won't be expected to count macros. If you wish to track your food intake then you will receive a daily calorie, protein and fruit and vegetable target. For those not wishing to track their food intake, I will work with you to find the best solution for you and your goals.
Will I receive a meal plan?
I don't provide meal plans and this is because I want you to build your meals around the food YOU love and your day to day life. I don't want you meal prepping for four hours on a weekend if that doesn't suit you and I don't want you to miss out on special occasions with your friends and family and most importantly, I don't want you to put your life on hold to reach your goals. What I will provide you with is a nutrition guide with tips on how to build your meals around protein and fruit and vegetables and simple meal ideas to help you achieve your daily nutrition targets on a consistent basis.
What does the written check in entail?
The written check in is a set of questions sent to you by email to ascertain how you are getting on with your plan, what progress you have made and if you have had any set backs. It encourages you to reflect on your actions and whether these have been in line with your goals. I will respond to your check in by email, providing feedback, encouragement, advice, guidance and much more. I only ever have your best interests at heart and my feedback, whilst honest will come from a place of compassion and non-judgement. Check ins are important when things are going well but they are even more important when things aren't so make sure to check in when things feel tough and we will figure out a way forward together.
